A collaborative developmental workshop series

by Carly Campbell

A fantastical dark musical comedy about a young woman jostled between the worlds inside her head, psychiatric institutions, and her queer Southern community.

CONTENT WARNING: mental distress, police interactions, psychiatric hospitalizations

What is COMMITTED about?

Phoebe is THRIVING! Whether she’s working in the campus coffee-shop, hooking up with all the queer cuties in town, or motivating her friend group to live out their dreams, she is the star of the show. But her mania takes a terrifying turn when she has a breakdown at a house party - and is escorted by police to a mental hospital. Amidst the infantilizing control and medication cocktails of the psych ward, Phoebe finds glimmers of community and resistance, but all of that falls away when she’s released. How do we find ourselves when we are lost? How do we weave together threads of community before they - and we - all fall apart? Heck, how do we get outta bed in the morning (or afternoon)?
